I often find that tabs are a bit like post-its. Yes, 30+ tabs is excessive and for the most part I do manage to keep on top of things but when we have a day where the shit hits the fan my tab count rapidly goes through the roof and since you never know when you need the content of any one of the tabs you just don't close them. What sort of work can trigger this? Well a stack of support tickets all with realated information, multiple instances of a website (maybe dev, staging and live), google searches, HTML sources, web service calls, etc. All things that help in the reporting, analysis and repair of bugs on live systems.

The other time things grow is when I open blog posts, news article and such that I don't have the time to read and want to come back to later, I organise the tabs to remind me to read them.

I keep my 5 core tabs open because I have found I waste more time consistantly loading them up, logging in (if they have crap authentication systems) and then working out what is new and what isn't. I tend to look at them far less if they are always there, I just collapse the tab group and get on with my work.

First world problem alert! ;-)

30 tabs at once? really?

Each to their own of course, but I find it hard to believe you really *need* that many open at one time (or more as you say "others" do).

You must context switch a lot! Try closing Hootsuite, Gmail, G+ etc for a start and concentrate on work! ;-)

I got this error too, but on the final release of NLog 2... It turned out I'd forgotten to actually reference the
NLog.Extended.dll
assembly in my project. (Oops... A bit of a school boy error there!)

Hi Andy,

Great insightful write up about Feedly. I like and use it as well but trying to figure out how to cross promote if via Posterous in some way. Do you do this?

I had the same problem, thought it was the number of mods I was running, ended up uninstalling and reinstalling twice. WASTE OF TIME! This solution worked on the first try. THUMBS UP! :)

When I was forced to switch from FeedDemon to Google Reader, I was not so happy to leave some functionality behind me (I loved the feedDemon client)
Feedly is now the first app I open in the morning for my “breakfast 2.0”. I have now no fear to add sources to my RSS feeds since I know it will be clearly represented in a “magazine like” interface

A nice article !

PS: I do not see Buzz in my option
PS2: I really like the feedly sidebar !
